Mercedes-Benz has officially released images of the all-new GLB and announced that the model will make its global debut on December 8. The new GLB will be available in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. The newly released images reveal a redesigned interior featuring the MBUX widescreen display system, a panoramic sunroof with an illuminated Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star pattern, and the MB.DRIVE intelligent driver assistance system. The model will offer both pure electric and mild-hybrid powertrains.
Inside, the new GLB adopts a layout similar to that of the Mercedes CLA EV, featuring an optional floating triple-screen MBUX display that spans the entire dashboard, framed by circular air vents on both ends. It is equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel and a column-mounted shifter. The center console adopts a two-layer design, providing enhanced storage options, and supports wireless smartphone charging. The MB.DRIVE intelligent assistance system is also available for improved driving comfort and safety.
The new GLB offers flexible seating options, including five- and seven-seat versions. The five-seat version can be equipped with sliding and reclining second-row seats (standard on the seven-seat model), improving headroom and legroom for front and second-row passengers. A large panoramic roof with customizable ambient lighting and the signature Mercedes star projection is also available as an option.
Although the exterior of the new GLB remains heavily camouflaged, its boxy silhouette is still evident. The design includes hidden door handles, a potential illuminated front grille, and a connected taillight cluster at the rear.
Powertrain details have yet to be officially announced. According to foreign media, the all-electric version will be built on the MMA platform, using an 800V architecture with both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants. Expected power output ranges from 230 to 355 horsepower, with battery capacities between 58 kWh and 85 kWh. The mild-hybrid gasoline version will feature a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Final specifications will be confirmed by Mercedes-Benz upon the global release.
