On September 1, the 2026 model-year Kia Carnival officially launched. Four trim levels are offered. Positioned as a mid-to-large-size MPV, it is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
Although this 2026 China-market Carnival is a facelift, it does not adopt the latest overseas design. The new car features a large chrome front grille flanked by slim headlights. By contrast, the overseas 2026 Carnival follows the brand’s newest design language, with vertically arranged headlights and a black grille; the lamps incorporate inverted-L-shaped daytime running lights and the grille has a mesh pattern. The China-spec 2026 Carnival is offered in Star Rain Blue, Pearl White, Interstellar Grey and Aurora Black.
Along the flanks, the Carnival uses many angular lines; the beltline is fairly straight. Elements include a floating roof, privacy glass for the rear doors, body-coloured mirrors, chrome side-skirt trim and an automatically opening power side door—simply carry the key and stand within a set distance of the sliding door and it opens by itself.
At the rear, the Carnival features a light-bar-style taillight cluster and a contrasting-colour bumper; the license-plate recess carries the model script. Reversing lamps are integrated into the lower bumper.
Inside, the updated China-market Carnival retains the 2021 model’s layout. A dual 12.3-inch integrated curved display sits on the dashboard. Interior colour choices are black-grey, beige-brown and black-brown. Wireless phone charging has been added, along with rear-seat conversation mode, rear-view camera display and rear-seat quiet mode. The driver’s seat and the second-row seats offer 12-way power adjustment (including 4-way lumbar) and heating/ventilation; the second-row seats also feature aviation-style headrests.
The 2026 China-market Carnival adopts a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. All trims come standard with full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-centering assist, driver’s knee airbag, tyre-pressure display, reversing camera, split-opening panoramic sunroof, keyless entry for all doors, heated front and second-row seats and three-zone automatic climate control.
Powertrain-wise, every 2026 China-market Carnival is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 171 kW and 353 N·m, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. In overseas markets, the Carnival is also available with a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 making 287 hp, mated to an 8-speed automatic.
