On September 16, Li Auto officially unveiled its new flagship all-electric SUV, the Li Auto i9. The Li Auto i9 measures 5225 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3168 mm. It delivers a CLTC pure electric range of 705 km and boasts a drag coefficient of 0.215, the lowest among mass-produced SUVs worldwide.
In terms of exterior design, the Li Auto i9 retains the brand’s family styling. The front is fitted with intelligent Star Ring headlights supporting ADB adaptive high beams. Its short front overhang and long rear overhang create a sleek, stretched silhouette. From the A-pillar to the D-pillar on the side, a fully flat design is adopted. Together with the extra-long three-row side windows, it reduces the bulky look typical of large SUVs. The rear features layered horizontal lines, paired with a through-type taillight and subtle chrome accents.
For dimensions, the new SUV is 5225/1970/1752 mm in length, width and height, with a 3168 mm wheelbase and an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.215. Notably, even as a flagship SUV, its width is kept at 1970 mm. Combined with steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering, it achieves a minimum turning radius of 5.3 m and a turning diameter of 10.6 m, bringing convenience for daily driving.
Eight paint colors are available: Diamond Black, Pearl White, Streamer Silver, Amethyst Gray, Quantum Titanium, New Elephant Gray, Ebony Gold and Misty Sea Blue. Three wheel options are offered: 21-inch low-drag wheels, 21-inch 7-spoke sport wheels and 22-inch Heptagram wheels.
Inside, the Li Auto i9 inherits the three-tone layered design of MEGA Home. Two interior themes are available: white-gray dual-tone and brown-cocoa dual-tone. Air diamond stitching and lightweight metallic textures create an airy premium feel, a consistent design feature across Li Auto’s latest models.
An interesting official statistic released is that the total glass area of the vehicle reaches 7.5 square meters, delivering excellent cabin openness. Coupled with the stepped seating layout, visibility for passengers in all three rows is improved. Seating is a major highlight of the i9: it comes standard with four zero-gravity seats that can recline simultaneously, a feature unmatched by competitors in the same segment. The second row adopts full-size bidirectional rotating zero-gravity seats. With a foldable table, the cabin can be transformed into multiple modes including living room, bedroom, cinema, private dressing room and parent-child space. In face-to-face seating mode, the distance between headrests can reach 2.5 meters.
The maximum depth of the trunk is 690 mm (the third row can slide by 100 mm). A front trunk is equipped, with space freed up through engineering optimizations such as a 90° vertical layout of the front electric drive unit by Li Auto engineers.
For equipment, the vehicle features a brand-new 10L in-car electric refrigerator that supports freezing, refrigeration and heating. It also comes with a 9.3.6-channel Home Theater audio system with a peak power of 4960W and 29 speakers. Signature screens include a 29-inch 6K panoramic front screen and a 21-inch 4K rear entertainment screen (sliding range of 120 mm forward and backward).
In intelligent driving, buyers can opt for the Embodied Intelligence Package. It is equipped with dual Mach M100 chips (1280 TOPS) and 4 lidars (1 lidar as standard). Alongside 8 UWB high-precision short-range radars and 11 cameras as standard, it is future-ready. Powered by the new-generation Mach VLA driver large model, the intelligent driving system offers improved comfort and performance on urban and highway roads. Additional functions include remote auto exit from parking spots, automatic parking into unmarked bays, parking control via mobile app and smart glasses, and robotic arm automatic charging (available only at national Li Auto supercharging stations in Beijing).
On safety, the Li Auto i9 is fitted with 11 airbags as standard (curtain airbag length: 3112 mm). It adopts a 2000 MPa integrated dual-ring body structure and features dual power supply plus independent power supply for four doors.
In terms of power, the Li Auto i9 uses an all-wheel-drive setup with a front asynchronous induction motor and rear permanent magnet synchronous motor. The system delivers a total power output of 400 kW and total torque of 660 N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.9 seconds. It carries a 101 kWh ternary lithium 5C ultra-fast charging battery. The CLTC pure electric range is 705 km with 21-inch wheels, and the CLTC comprehensive energy consumption is 15.1 kWh/100km. It can gain 500 km of range with a 10-minute charge.
For the chassis, it adopts front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, paired with standard dual-chamber dual-valve air suspension and CDC continuously variable damping shock absorbers. Steer-by-wire works in tandem with rear-wheel steering to balance body stability and agility at low speeds.
