Recently, Mazda has announced the pricing of the new CX-5 in Spain and has started taking pre-orders. As a new generation model, the car has undergone significant changes in its exterior and interior design, and its body size has been further increased. The new model will first be launched with the e-SKYACTIV G 2.5 engine (with a mild hybrid system) for the European market, while the hybrid model equipped with the SKYACTIV-Z engine is scheduled to be released in 2027. It is reported that the vehicle will be launched in Europe starting in December this year.
In terms of exterior design, the new Mazda CX-5 adopts the brand's latest design language, with significant changes made to the grille and front bumper areas. The new model is equipped with a large-sized air intake grille and slender headlights, and the daytime running lights feature a two-section design.
On the side, the new Mazda CX-5 is equipped with traditional door handle designs. The official images show that the model has undergone blackening treatment on details such as the exterior mirrors, rims, and wheel arches. It is reported that the new Mazda CX-5 has dimensions of 4690/1860/1695 millimeters in length, width, and height, respectively. However, the official axle size has not yet been announced. For reference, the domestic 2025 Mazda CX-5 sold by Chang'an Mazda has dimensions of 4575/1842/1685 millimeters in length, width, and height, with an axle size of 2700 millimeters. In comparison, the new Mazda CX-5 has increased in all dimensions of length, width, and height.
At the rear, the new Mazda CX-5 features a rear spoiler and a dual-exhaust system with two outlets on each side. The taillights have a slender design, and the rear part applies the "MAZDA" English logo.
Inside the cabin, the new Mazda CX-5 has a relatively simple design, with almost no physical buttons on the dashboard. Depending on the configuration, the vehicle offers either a 12.9-inch or a 15.6-inch touchscreen, equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a three-spoke steering wheel. The driving assistance systems have also been upgraded. In addition, the official images show that the model features a two-tone interior design.
It is reported that the new Mazda CX-5 will be available in four configurations: Prime-Line 4, Centre-Line, Exclusive-Line, and Homura. The Homura model offers black or brown leather interiors, while the Exclusive-Line model provides black and white faux leather interiors or faux leather interiors with a suede-like texture.
It is reported that in Europe, the new Mazda CX-5 will first be launched with the e-SKYACTIV G 2.5 engine (with a mild hybrid system). The engine has a maximum power of 104 kilowatts and a peak torque of 238 newton-meters. The transmission system is matched with a six-speed automatic gearbox, offering both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models.
At present, there have been three generations of Mazda CX-5 models. The first generation was launched in 2011; the second generation was launched in 2016, with a mid-cycle refresh in 2021; and the third generation was introduced in July this year.
