The new Xpeng G9 will be equipped with two battery options, with a maximum pure electric range of 725 km according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Specifically, the new Xpeng G9 offers 79 kWh and 93.1 kWh battery packs. The 79 kWh version has a pure electric range of 625 km (according to MIIT), while the 93.1 kWh version offers a range of 680 km (or for the AWD version) to 725 km. In comparison, the current Xpeng G9 provides 78.2 kWh and 98 kWh battery packs, with the 78.2 kWh version having a pure electric range of 570 km, and the 98 kWh version offering 650 km (for the dual-motor AWD version) to 702 km.
Looking at the actual vehicle images, the new Xpeng G9 retains the same exterior design as the current model, still featuring a full-width tail light, split headlamps, hidden door handles, and full-width tail light, but the model declared to the MIIT does not come with a lidar, instead using black trim panels. Additionally, the lower front grille is designed with parallel lines.
The new Xpeng G9 will offer a two-tone body style and introduce a new petal-style wheel rim. Moreover, the car may also offer an all-black appearance similar to the "Black Knight" version of the Xpeng G6. In terms of body dimensions, the new Xpeng G9 measures 4891/1937/1680 mm (with an optional air suspension, the height is 1670 mm), with a wheelbase of 2998 mm, which remains consistent with the current model.
In terms of power, the rear-wheel-drive version of the new Xpeng G9 will be equipped with a motor with a maximum power output of 258 kW (up from 230 kW in the current model). The dual-motor AWD version will have front and rear motor powers of 165 kW and 258 kW, respectively (up from 175 kW and 230 kW in the current model), resulting in a total maximum output of 423 kW. For the battery, the declared models will be equipped with CATL’s lithium iron phosphate battery pack.
